Marginalized Particle Filter for Blind Signal Detection with Analog Imperfections
نویسندگان
چکیده
Recently, the marginalized particle filter (MPF) has been applied to blind symbol detection problems over selective fading channels. The MPF can ease the computational burden of the standard particle filter (PF) while offering better estimates compared with the standard PF. In this paper, we investigate the application of the blind MPF detector to more realistic situations where the systems suffer from analog imperfections which are non-linear signal distortion due to the inaccurate analog circuits in wireless devices. By reformulating the system model using the widely linear representation and employing the auxiliary variable resampling (AVR) technique for estimation of the imperfections, the blind MPF detector is successfully modified to cope with the analog imperfections. The effectiveness of the proposed MPF detector is demonstrated via computer simulations. key words: particle filter, blind signal detection, IQ imbalance, CFO

Performance Improvement of Radar Target Detection by Wavelet-based Denoising Methods
With progress in radar systems, a number of methods have been developed for signal processing and detection in radars. A number of modern radar signal processing methods use time-frequency transforms, especially the wavelet transform (WT) which is a well-known linear transform. The interference canceling is one of the most important applications of the wavelet transform. In Ad-hoc detection met...

متن کاملSequential beat-to-beat P and T wave delineation and waveform estimation in ECG signals: Block Gibbs sampler and marginalized particle filter
For ECG interpretation, the detection and delineation of P and T waves are challenging tasks. This paper proposes sequential Bayesian methods for simultaneous detection, threshold-free delineation, and waveform estimation of P and T waves on a beat-to-beat basis. By contrast to state-of-the-art methods that process multiple-beat signal blocks, the proposed Bayesian methods account for beat-to-b...
متن کاملSingle-Lead Fetal ECG Extraction Based on a Parallel Marginalized Particle Filter
This paper presents a novel method for extracting the fetal ECG (FECG) from a single-lead abdominal signal. A dynamical model for a modified abdominal signal is proposed, in which both the maternal ECG (MECG) and the FECG are modeled, and then a parallel marginalized particle filter (par-MPF) is used for tracking the abdominal signal. Finally, the FECG and MECG are simultaneously separated. Sev...
متن کاملThe Marginalized Particle Filter – Analysis, Applications and Generalizations
The marginalized particle filter is a powerful combination of the particle filter and the Kalman filter, which can be used when the underlying model contains a linear sub-structure, subject to Gaussian noise. This paper outlines the marginalized particle filter and very briefly hint at possible generalizations, giving rise to a larger family of marginalized nonlinear filters. Furthermore, we an...
